Clorox 2 and You !

I know with a baby in the house ,there are alot of clothes with stains on them! I have tried different products trying to get them out and I have found that the new Clorox2 works well on them and those weird stains my husband gets on his shirt sleeve from rubbing it on his desk while typing all day. I'm not sure what it is really , it looks like pencil lead stains from rubbing on papers with pencil . Maybe it's a stain from rubbing on the edge of his metal desk , either way it drives me crazy because it shows up bad on white dress shirts!

I have found since trying the Clorox2 that his shirts don't seem to get the stains as bad as they use to. I have also found the baby's clothes don't seem to be getting stained at the top like they were from his milk and drool always soaking him there.

So for me I really like the way the new Clorox2 works for my household's needs and because I like it .... I have two free bottles to give one of you !

Just go to their new site and look around and come back here and tell me something you liked from it. It can be some cool feature or any kind of fact about the product or site , it's that easy !

Leave me a comment and that is one entry !

For another one add my blog to your list or follow me and come back and tell me in another comment and that's a second entry!

For a third blog about the giveaway and then leave it in another comment and that's three!

Giveaway will close midnight Saturday,December 6th!

Boys! Boys! Boys!

Last week I was saying how I could never find boy shoes at Walmart, they either never have any or they never have the right size for my little man. Same goes for boy clothes, they always have girl stuff ,but boy stuff it's a very small selection to pick from.

Well I got looking and found a great site that is all boy stuff ! I got these cute shoes . I love them and they sell for $14.95 ! That is a great price , they have alot of cute things to pick from over at One Stop Boy Shop . I have found a few other things that I want to get from there too ! Not only do they have shoes they have Hats, Pants , PJs and Hoodies and even Blankets and different other cute things for little boys !

The company was started by a mom who has boys and ran into the same thing as I did and I'm sure most of you, where it's really hard to find cute boy things . She also has a blog that I think you should check out, I read it all the time now and enjoy her posts daily! So go take a look around her blog and let her know Jenn sent you !

Ok, so now that I have said how I like the site and loved the shoes I got for the baby. I have something else to tell you if you go over to the shop site right now they are having a giveaway for one pair of shoes ! So get over there and enter for your chance to win a pair of shoes for your little guy!

I'm going to be doing a giveaway very soon, and I just happen to have a pair of her shoes to put in it. So if you go over and enter the contest on her site and then enter my giveaway when I put it up, that is two pairs of shoes you will have a chance to win before Christmas !

Try It Tuesday!

Red Baron - Their pizzas are really good ! I love having different things that you can cook really fast for meals, mostly now that I feel so blahhh !
Eggo Bake Shop Swirlz -They are good and the kids all like them, but I find them just too sweet and would rather have the Muffin Tops instead !
Scrubbing Bubbles Toilet Cleaning Gel - I love it ! I like that you just snap the wand together and push the end and a little gel sticky blob thing comes out and stays on the inside of your toilet for quite a few flushes. I love that you can walk in the bathroom a day or two later and it still smells nice and clean in there, unlike when you just clean it with some kind of spray and the nice clean smell only last for a little while and then is gone.
For more Try It Tuesday go here and here .

Guess What !

Boiled Dinner !

OK , so it does not sound yummy, but I assure you it is ! Maybe it's so old it was named before people started making up crazy names for things or maybe it was named by some pioneer wife and it was the first thing she thought of when telling her neighbor she seen once a year about the new thing she made or maybe she .......... you get the point ! haha
There really is no measuring, you just throw in the ingredients.
So here is the list : Potatoes
Carrots
Turnip
Parsnip
Onions
Cabbage
Ham
Summer Savory and Pepper
Take a big pot one you make soup or your chili in , add water just like you are going to cook potatoes. After you have peeled and washed the potatoes chunk them up kind of big and throw them in , then do the same with the carrots, turnip and parsnip . Then chunk up your ham and throw that in on top of those, then slice up cabbage in bigger quarter type chunks or like you do to make corn beef and cabbage and lay them on top .
I never fill my pot to the top with water ,maybe half way or so . when you put the cabbage in at the end it will be sitting on the ham and water but not under it some will be but not even half.
Just before I add the cabbage I add as much summer savory and pepper that I want , then add your cabbage. I cover it ,but not tight I leave it open a little .
I turn it on about medium and let it cook just the same way you do soup. I check it every now and then to see if my vegetables are cooking and as everything cooks the cabbage will soften too ,and you will be able to get at the other vegetables better . I never add salt as I find enough comes off the ham and goes down through all the other things in the pot.
Once you know the potatoes are cooked then the cabbage should be too, it should be tender but not really mushy or slimy. I cook mine all afternoon and then its ready for supper. I put way more potatoes ,then the other vegetables and then more carrots then the turnip and parsnip. I do add some of those too though , since that gives the kids more vegetables to eat and adds more colors to the dish. I hate turnip, so when I'm getting mine I just don't scoop it out and, here there never are parsnip so I always make it without. Which is fine ,but I included it in case any of you like it.
As for the onion I just cut it up in bigger pieces then you would if you were dicing it , I find it adds more flavor but you don't need to put it in . I grew up eating it with no onion in it.
When I scoop it out I always use a slotted spoon, so the water doesn't come with all the stuff. It is always served on plates that way you have room to put butter on your vegetables and I put lots on my cabbage. I also always sprinkle a little vinegar on my cabbage and then I always put pepper on it too, just like any other meal that tends to have it added. Also if its on a plate that way you can have pickles or beets or whatever else you like with meals like that.
This makes alot so if you don't have three or more people eating , you will have left overs. It only last here through supper and then by the next day it's gone. All my kids really like it !
I added the picture of my chocolates ,just because I love my hubby . He was away for work and called me and asked if I wanted anything and I said go to whatever mall is there and has a Godiva store, so he did and then he talked to me on the phone so I could pick out exactly what flavors I wanted . 15 bucks for that many chocolates is nuts and I only get them once a year or longer ,but if I'm paying that much for so little I figure they all better be ones I like!
My hubby really is such a sweet guy .....I love you honey !
Since I threw that picture in there...tell me do you like Godiva chocolates ,and if you do what ones do you love ?

OK, today is one of those days, I spaced this thing nice and neat 4 times and then when I go to post it's all ran together. Sorry if it makes it hard to read .

Who Are You Spending Your Free Time With ? 2

I liked this when I did it back in early October and I think , I'm going to do it once a month from now on. Anyone that wants to do it too, leave me a comment and I'll come check out what you are reading !

The rules are : Get the book that is on your nightstand or where ever you happen to do your reading. Open to page 56 find the fifth sentence . Post the next two to five sentences and these instructions on your blog.

Do not go get your favorite book.....it has to be the one you are reading now !

Here is the one I was reading last time, it only had 456 pages. The one I'm reading now has 1174!

This book is also by John Jakes and is called , HOMELAND . It's about a young German boy who comes to America before WWI . His uncle is the head of a brewery dynasty in Chicago , but he has his own dreams and they don't include working for or running a brewery!

" Under his jacket and shirt, a canvas belt chafed his belly. Aunt Lotte had sewn the belt for him. It held his uncle's letter and his last eighteen marks. To buck himself up, he fished in the belt for his uncle's letter and was rereading the encouraging sentences, which he'd practically memorized, when a couple sunburned seamen appeared at the hatch."

Let me know if you play too !

The Secret Mountain !

The Secret Mountain is a great place to get books for your kids. The illustration in their books is absolutely beautiful, and each one comes with a CD of music that compliments the story. Many of Secret Mountain's titles have won prestigious awards, and as you read these books ,you'll see why!
I have a few of them and they are all great, I love A Duck in New York City it is so cute the pictures and the story and I found kids like to hear the music going along with it. Down at the Sea Hotel is another cute one, they have alot of different books to offer and I'm going to be buying some more of them.
All books come in two different formats : Storybook-Music CD or Digipak-CD
I personally like getting the book too, that way kids can read it anywhere anytime . I think if you go have a look around their site you will find some great books for your kids too !

Is It Just Me ?

I live in a small town, the only store here is Walmart . There are no other places to buy baby things unless you drive 40 minutes and then there are only a few more . Really it's two hours to really be able to find things. My husband works all the time and if we didn't get that extra 50 hours on each pay we would be picking what bills we were going to pay and what ones would get left for next time.

Every time I go look at the store to get the baby anything , they never have the size I need. It's cold out now and the poor boy has no shoes, and they never have anything in his size ! I can't take him out in public in sock feet in winter. I would never hear the end of it about what a bad mother I am and that poor baby ! Plus I wouldn't want him to be cold anyway so I just wouldn't do it.

I enter every contest I ever see for baby shoes, but I have never won any. Has anyone else noticed it's hard to find different baby items in Walmart , or is it just my store that never has any boy things and not really any baby shoes ?

Since there are no other stores here to look at, I'm asking you . Where do you find your baby's footwear at a good price ? I think it's crazy to pay 30 and up for tiny shoes , they only wear a few times and then they don't fit . I have checked the second hand store here a few times and they either never have anything or it's something that has already gone through about 6 kids and looks ratty and worn out.

Anyways , let me know where you find great baby/kids shoes at a great price .

Hash Brown Casserole !

I make this once a month or so , everyone loves it . I made it yesterday and didn't take pictures, because I was sure I did one other time when I made it. Then of course just now when I went to get them all I had was one of it just before I threw it in the oven and not even one of how brown and crispy the top is when it comes out ! So you all can just imagine you see it all nice and hot and crispy looking on top....OK ?
Hash brown Casserole
1 ( 32oz )pkg Hash Browns (cubed)
1/2 cup melted margarine or butter
1/2 cup sauteed onions ( use the margarine or butter )
1 can Cream of Chicken soup
2 cups (16 oz) sour cream
2 cups cheddar cheese ( grated)
salt and pepper to taste
Topping :
2 cups crushed cornflakes
1/4 cup margarine or butter
Mix all together and place in your baking dish . Mix corn flakes and melted butter together and sprinkle over the top.
Bake at 350 for 45 mins or until you see the top is golden brown and crispy.
Like always I never follow this , I just throw in a couple big blobs of sour cream and throw in whatever I feel like for the cheese. I also find that we like it better made with the shredded hash browns that say savory seasoned on the bag. I never put salt in and always shake pepper in and mix it all through. The other thing I do is add a little pepper to the crumb mixture as well as a little garlic powder. Just do whatever sounds good to you, or what you know your husband or kids will eat.
Last time I posted a picture of my strawberry shortcake , I had a lot of people saying how yummy it looked . So I thought I'd add it too, and boy do I wish I could eat that right now !

SeatSnug !

I just have to start by saying I love SeatSnug ! When I seen this new seat belt device I was thrilled. I know that they always include a seat belt clip thing with car seats. The ones that come with car seats however are very hard to get on , you need to put them where it will hold the seat tight while trying to get the straps shoved into the two openings. Most times it takes quite a bit of moving and yanking and tugging to try and get it on there and then lots of times once you do it's too loose and you need to take it off and try all over again.

Then once your child is old enough for a booster seat and you need to change it. You go through it all over again ,but in most cases you have the added bonus of listening to a kid whine and complain you are taking to long or them asking to do it themselves. Well there is no way a kid could use that other one the right way at all without pinching their fingers .

SeatSnug is the only seat belt enhancement developed to keep your child's seat secure using the patented CG-LOCK technology. The same one that professional drivers use to keep from sliding around in their seats . It has also been shown to be very effective in crash test, and now you can get that same technology to keep your child safe and comfortable while driving.

So go take a look around their site , where they even have a video showing just how much it stops a child from moving around in their seat while the car is moving and swerving to avoid whatever might be on the road.

Remembrance Day !

Canadian Memorial at Vimy Ridge

Close up of crosses in Flanders Fields

Over head shot so you can get an idea just how many crosses there are . For people that don't really know what you are seeing....all those white spots in the field are crosses.

In Flanders Fields

By: Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918)
Canadian Army

IN FLANDERS FIELDS the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

When I was in school we had to learn this and the story behind it. It's easier for me to make the link then type it all out myself ,but I do know it ! If you don't know the story here it is.

This is a story that was on the front page of the paper I read each morning , I love to read all the stories about the brave men who did so much for their countries . I thought I'd share it here
with anyone that wants to read it.

No, I did not forget that in this country it's called Veteran's Day ...my husband is one ! So for the history on it you can click here . No matter what country you are from be it Canada or the United States you should always remember and be grateful for the brave men in the military that do so much, that so many never will or would.

pHisoderm baby

For more than a decade, parents have trusted their baby's skin to pH balanced pHisoderm. They have a tear-free Cream Wash and now they are just starting to hit store shelves with their new Gel Wash . It's dermatologist recommended, has a phthalate-free formula and leaves your baby's delicate skin soft and smooth. I love the Powder Fresh Scent it comes in ! I love the smell of babies just out of the bath and powdered up. Some find it old fashioned and go for the newer lotions instead, if you use it or not that's up to you. Most will agree with me though ,there is nothing better then the smell of a nice clean baby and now with this you can still get that great smell without the mess of powder .

As you can see I have two bottles , and they are both for you guys!

I'm giving away one in this contest, and the other is going in with a collection of prizes that someone will win in another contest I'm having before Christmas.

To enter go to their site take a look around and come back and tell me either where you can buy it or one of their other products you would like to try or already use.

For a second entry : add my button to your blog then come back and tell me in a separate comment.

For a third : blog about this contest and come back and tell me in another comment.

This contest will end at midnight Nov 15th .

A Little Bit Of Everything !

OK, so I was tagged by Jen to do the 7 random facts about me :

1. I love babies !

2. I do not care for teens up until they are about 25, I didn't when I was one and I still don't !

3. Some I don't mind ,if they are nice and not rude and think they know it all !

4. I love Swiss milk chocolate!

5. I will never get married again !

6. I hope all my kids ,grow up to be good people !

7. I will be getting pregnant in the near future !

Anyone else that wants to play let me know you did and I'll come take a look. The Build-a-Bear contest ends tomorrow. There just might be a new contest starting tomorrow ! I still have not finished the baby's room, he might be giving his room to a new baby before I ever have it ready for him!

Laundry is going and I need to do something around here, but I feel sick and want to sleep. I think my boobs hurt...Holy Crap ! It better not be that ! I like to plan everything, the plan is to get pregnant in Feb,March or April and if it's a boy great that way we have all the stuff left from him that is just like new. If it's a girl I'm screwed ,my last girl was 14 years ago....I have NO girl things!

That's enough of my rambling for today ....I MUST FINISH HIS ROOM!

Just Because I Want To!

He loves to sit in there !
He spends a good 20 minutes climbing in and out from under there everyday !

I spend my days chasing him to make sure he isn't hurt, and he spends his days chasing me yelling DADADA !
He's been saying it for months ,but will not say Mama in any form that I have tried to drill into him daily for hours! hahaha

Try It Tuesday !

I know it's been a couple weeks since I have done this, but I thought since I didn't have anything else I needed to get posted today I'd do one.

If you want to see the last two go here and here .

The DiGiorno Thin Crispy Crust was good however it's small...like cut into four pieces and it's gone so it won't feed many. They were bigger pieces ,but still you would need two if it was more then one adult and a kid or two.

The Hot Pockets Panini was awful I tried another one before and it was ok, but this Ham and Swiss was bad. I took two little bites and let someone else eat it and when they were done they really didn't like it either.

The Eggo Bake Shop Mini Muffin Tops were great ! I tried the choc chip last time and really liked them and this time the blueberry and thought they were really good. I always put them down and then when they pop, I rotate them a bit and put them down again so when they pop the second time ,they are nice and crispy on the outside.

I just wanted to remind anyone that wants to enter for the $10 Bear Bucks gift card from Build -a- Bear it ends the 8th , you can go here if you want to enter . If you didn't go check out the Mobie Stories and get your free books you can go here .

I'll be having a few more giveaways this month ,and I'm going to do one later in the month with a few prizes in it .

One last thing that has nothing to do with anything else in this post at all, but if you are an ER fan Dr.Greene will be on it on Nov 13th. I loved Mark and bawled my eyes out when he died...so you know I'll be watching !

Make sure you go vote today !

Check Out The Gift Closet !

I recently received a sample of Soy Whipped Body Butter from Heather over at The Gift Closet . I really liked it , the scent I got was Juicy and it was nice and light and didn't have an over powering smell like some lotions tend to have. It felt nice to the touch and going on your skin , not at all sticky or greasy how some lotions can be.

The Body Butter absorbs into your skin, leaving it silky soft . It contains soy lecithin , which repairs the skin and keeps it soft and flexible . This slows down the natural process of aging and it is made from 90% natural ingredients . Soy is rich in natural Vitamin E , which is very moisturizing and helps to promote quick regeneration of the skin . Soybean Oil is easily absorbed by the skin and is known to soften and sooth irritated skin. The high levels of proteins and minerals also help to repair previous sun damage to your skin.

Her Body Butters come in a lot of great scents such as: Juicy , Vanilla Lace , Sweet Pea , Lavender Vanilla and more. Body Butter isn't the only thing Heather makes though, she also has Scrabble Pendants and Scrabble Magnets , Soy Linen and Body Spray and if you go look around at her store you will see she has great prices !

She also has a Christmas event going on right now! So go check her out , you'll be glad you did !
While your at it stop by her blog she always has something interesting to read .
