I noticed right now alot of blogs are having a contest for this or that. I always go and look to see what the prize is ,but most of them I do not enter. If the prize is stuff I know I don't need I don't do it or if it's stuff for little girls I don't because I have a boy. If it is something I really would use or I don't have one and would like to someday buy one then I enter.
I know some people just enter every contest they see and some enter more then once, I just think if I don't need it then why take it away from someone else that does! So,am I stupid for being nice and not acting as greedy as some people tend to do ?

I have entered a few but only from blogs that I normally read. I don't go out searching for prizes.
I did win a case of water from Beth at folding laundry. My hubs did get a good giggle out of that. He couldn't believe of all things I won water :-)
I sometimes enter the ones PW has. Especially when it's gift cards to the Home Depot. But there are so many people that enter her contests I know I don't have a chance.
I did win a jar of Mayo from CW. After I read her post I went to the grocery store and they didn't have it and lucky for me she gave away a jar a few days later.
There is a really good site called prizey.blogspot.com I've never won anything off of it and actually haven't entered in a long time. But, if you enter things and win something you don't need you can give it away as a baby shower gift or donate it. I've only won something once off simple-reveiws.blogspot.com

I enter where I read regularly or if it's really cool but then I also start reading there regularly when I do that.
I have entered a few. I don't ever have contests. I might have one to name one of our foals next year. But I won't have a prize, just the joy of winning!! LOL!! I don't enter many. I do enter all of Pioneer Woman's contest. I will never win, but maybe, some day, maybe!!
I only enter those that are something I'd really like to have :) otherwise it would get way too time consuming! There's too many contests out there!

I only enter give-aways of things I really need. I actually won a Munchkin basket, and I used almost every single product!

I didnt even know thier were contests you could enter. I have entered contest off the puter like at stores for gift cards and such BUT maybe one time online and I cant remember what it was. I am pretty sure it was cash,lol
I do not enter contests with prizes. For one I feel bad taking other peoples stuff! And if it is not something I need or want why enter?
Of course not. More people need to be thoughtful and think of more than just themselves.
No - it is great that you only enter in what you need. I do that too. I have never won anything though.
Depends on what it is.. lol I know with my mom's blog, she gives away stuff CONSTANTLY... I usually enter just to avoid the questions, but sometimes it's something I actually want. Like Old Red Barn Co had a give away for this GORGEOUS quilt that I wanted. There were soooo many entries, I did enter but didn't have a chance. :( I don't have time to seek them out either. haha
I am the same as you I will enter it if there is somethig I like. I think they do it to get more traffic to their sites.
I agree with Amanda if you win something you don't really need then I am sure you know somebody that does want or need it so you can donate it to someone.
I can see getting something ,already in mind to give to someone else because you know they would like it but to just enter for something and then give it away because you don't want it..why enter in the first place
I only enter if its something I really want and know I'll use. And I do feel guilty entering on sites I know I'll never read again so I refrain from those too.
I only enter a giveaway if it is something I want/need. No need winning a prize that I won't use but someone else really wants.

I do the exact same thing! But some people are just all about the free stuff. You should have seen the way they acted at the free buffets this weekend! It is like these people had not eaten in weeks! I know times are tough, but leave some for everyone!
I never win anything, so I cut out the middle man, and I dont waste my time enterring anything anymore. If I want it that bad, I just go buy it.
Im wondering if some contests are rigged though, because I see the same people winning week after week. (Like on SITS, a lady won twice in a row..out of all those people they have on that site, are they serious?)
I enter a lot of giveaways and the only time I enter one for something I don't want or need is if a family member could use it.
Funny, I often think maybe some people just give the prize to their friends or to someone that is high up there in bloggy world ,so others will like them.
I agree, I only enter the contests that I could use the product, or I know someone that could use it. I think it is wise to pass on the ones you don't need/want. There are some reviews I pass on because they really don't interest me either.
Well when I was new to the blogging world I saw all these giveaways and was blown away - so of course I was entering everything I could see! Now that I've been around for a year, I am very selective. I don't go out of my way to look for them, but if someone I subscribe to is having a giveaway and I love what it is, I will enter. It's a lot of work to keep up on all the giveaways out there. I don't have time for it!
